Hebrew for worship

In another book by Chaim Bentorah (See a previous post on livabethini), I came across something pretty amazing.

The Hebrew word for worship is shachah and it is read from right to left in the Hebrew text. The first letter is shin, traditionally carrying the meaning of passion, fire, or a fiery passion. Thus worship consists of a fiery passion between God and man.

The second letter is chet which represents a joining with God in a secret place or a special place (secret special place) or bridal chamber.

The final letter is Hei which represents the divine presence or the presence of God. Thus as Chaim says you have a built in commentary on the word worship meaning: (get this) When you worship you are sharing a fiery passion with God and He with you through a joining with him in a secret place, like a bridal chamber to experience his presence.

To read more on this there is a Kindle book for about £3.60 called ‘Hebrew word study; beyond the lexicon’. I have only discovered this as Kindle recommends books that you may like and these ones by Chaim came up near the front of my list!

Chaim deals with other words in a similar fashion and helps people who don’t want to spend time learning Hebrew to glean the heart behind the text/words.
