Went into the garden and prepared myself for the day out loud as I had done silently in bed whilst reading and reflecting on the Prayer of 7 directions (David Adam). I started with a simple version to embed it in my head and heart:
As I finished the prayer I looked up towards our house and a grey heron flew from the east towards the west. A starting sign God is here and I began my systematic check around the moth trap. There were 3 outside the trap. 2 deads, one a shuttle-shaped dart, the other treble lines. The live one was a maiden’s blush.
I proceeded to take the lid of the trap after turning the light off and slowly took the egg boxes out. All that was inside were a tawny shears, a heart and dart and a may bug which appeared to be dead. When Isaac came and held it it revived and he passed it to me and walked around. I released it onto hazel bordering our garden.
It was a real pleasure sitting on the summerhouse veranda where the trap was, listening to and watching the starlings young and old as well as a goldcrest, drinking in the early morning non-human quiet and life.
I released the moths after Isaac had seen them.
I decided to walk over and examine the wildflower patch, do some weeding and put the next batch of seed down. After doing this I sprinkled more compost over it and then watered it. There are signs of the previous sowing!
As I finished gardening I could hear a ring neck parakeet, it was flying from west to east! My time was done – breakfast!
