Three memorable views

On the way down to Cornwall at half term we saw a rainbow which was over the road. Suddenly we were actually in the rainbow. I’d never experienced anything quite like it. The rainbow was so close you could have touched it. It had a shadow on the outside and one on the inside. There was a rounded affect like the rainbow was 3D! As I was driving I couldn’t take a picture of it!

About half way through the holiday, after seeing amazing scenery and plants at Morrab and Trengwainton gardens we saw dolphins. I was identifying a bird off Porthmeor beach at St Ives when a fin and then another appeared in the background! They were about 2km out from the beach. There were about 5 or 6. They were leaping out of the water which helped to identify them along with their markings.

Later I found out that a small group of dolphins had been seen and video’d from the same bay. The timing of that sighting was under two hours earlier. This group had been swimming in and around the surfers coming towards the beach out of the waves. I like to think it was the same group of Short beaked common dolphins which is now proudly recorded at http://ift.tt/2hOHzO2 !

Finally, on the return journey from the holiday, on Okehampton byepass we were treated to a spectacular sunrise (both rainbow and sunrise pictures to be uploaded at some point). The colour was a rich orange and was revealed between strips of cloud and intensified into yellow as we progressed along the road.

A beautiful end to a holiday.
