At the weekend enjoyed Forest Church with a band of 11 others. We explored the hills on the Ash Ranges not far from Henley Park lake near Pirbright.
One person who came commented that she hadn’t heard any cars and it was the first time in Surrey that had happened!
The landscape is noticeably hilly! There had been much activity by the MOD which was evident on our walk. This exposed the shape of the landscape highlighting it’s undulating nature. Looking on old maps of the area the site has remained inbuilt on for a couple of hundred years or more. It was a privilege to access the site as the red flag was down.
As walk leader I highlighted the names of the hills and encouraged the group to ponder the reasons why they might be so named. In my research I was unable to find out why, so I stated that they could have free reign in considering that for themselves!
This place and surrounding woodlands has been wonderful for mindfulness and considering what God may be saying.
Even though it was a grey overcast day it was possible to see for some miles in all directions. We didn’t stand still for too long as the wind was rather brisque!
Some more photos to follow.
