In my question to Google in which I thought I needed a refresher on, it led me to the website for the Institute for Bible reading and also BioLogos which were both at the top of the list. The question was:
What does it mean that the scriptures weren’t written to us but for us?
Both websites answer the question well. But then I was distracted and my eye was caught by the blog below which I thought would be good to highlight in my supernatural section. It is not a Michael Heiser push, you may be pleased to know and is written by someone completely different!

Glenn Paauw writes very eloquently in a 6 part series about the powers which are entwined with earthly systems and powers and influence the world we live in. If you want to know how to best deal with these powers without all the preamble jump to episode 6 here. If you feel you need the background read them all.
He uses Robert Alter‘s translation of the old testament and Kingdom New Testament for the new which I’ve not come across. The latter looks to be quite fresh, modern and well written from a very quick look. Since writing that I discover I know it under a different name The New Testament For Everyone and it’s by Tom Wright.
Fallen humans are responsible for the world’s evil. Fallen spiritual powers are responsible for the world’s evil. The Bible says ‘Yes’ to both of these statements.

Another author who has written a lot on this subject I may have written of before is Allen Segal. Another book for the wishlist!
