I ended up on Pluto (the planet that once was a planet). I was on a track which was just like a track in the English countryside. It was set into a hill somewhat like a shallow version of a drovers road. There was a woman who appeared by me who seemed frightened. We had to survive. We were waiting for extraction as we’d been left on the planet. We got into a sleeping bag together. That’s when I noticed that she was naked. I was clothed. It seemed normal and the thing to do.
We looked out into the night at space. We heard sounds approaching two men came with a dog and it seemed normal for them to see us lying there. We greeted them. They were looking for a route. We heard them say this looks like the gate and we watched them go down the lane next to the house we were by. I wasn’t sure they were supposed to do that. I had seen the gate embedded in the hedge wall earlier and thought there-was-something-that-once-was-about it.
After they had gone I remember following where I thought they had been, with my companion. She had been there on Pluto longer. I was concerned that we had left all our possessions all open on the track but she said not to worry. What would happen to them? They’d be fine. Things like theft didn’t happen here.
As we passed the corner House we saw one of the residents looking out. She looked like someone I knew from earth. (When I considered the house, it’s as if I’d been inside it and knew what was in there). She was looking towards the distance. We went past the house out into the open and there before us lay a vast vista stretching across the horizon. We could see the land stretching away all around us. There were a few houses and possibly Guildford cathedral but mostly it was countryside. It was an impressive view.
What is a human being that you think of him? and a child of humankind that you care for him?
Psalm 8:4 (LEB)
I put Pluto into the Etymonline search and find:
Pluto (n.)
Roman god of the underworld, early 14c., from Latin Pluto, Pluton, from Greek Ploutōn “god of wealth,” from ploutos “wealth, riches,” probably originally “overflowing,” from PIE root *pleu- “to flow.” The alternative Greek name or epithet of Hades in his function as the god of wealth (precious metals and gems, coming from beneath the earth, form part of his realm). The planet (since downgraded) was discovered 1930 by U.S. astronomer Clyde W. Tombaugh; Minerva also was suggested as a name for it. The cartoon dog first appeared in Walt Disney’s “Moose Hunt,” released April 1931.
There is a play on words going on with this dream. The word pluto and plato sound similar especially when you consider the sounds of the two words platonic and plutonic!
As adjectives the difference between platonic and plutonic is that platonic is not sexual in nature; being or exhibiting platonic love while plutonic is (mineralogy) of an igneous rock that cooled and hardened below the earth’s surface.

Here are some of the main points
- Getting into my sleeping bag with the woman was not a sexual thing (platonic)
- The planet was Pluto (like Plato)
- Two men walking together is platonic
- Leaving our possessions out in the open (pluto is to do with wealth)
- The wealth of the cottage
- The wealth of the countryside
I ask the question what are the most important things Plato brought to us?
One of them struck me (I only read up to 3) and that was theory of form.
These points are very much influencing us even today.
The idea is that non-physical forms, or ideas, are the most accurate reality, and the marvels of the physical world are an imperfect reverberation of the ideal, perfect model that exists outside of reality.

Something that was crucial about the dream was the sense of looking out. This is the main action of the dream. The main emotion of the dream that came across to me strongly was longing.
I had a song that came to me when considering the dream which I only heard of at the end of last year. It is a cover of a Beatles song. It is this song:
The song and my dream are connected. They convey the longing in me like I think we all probably have for something more in this life. We are looking outward and longing to be extracted from where we are – deep down if we really admit it. This is a longing that can be captured to draw us onward and upward as CS Lewis says in the Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia). It is a longing that can also be called a hunger that can only be filled with Jesus Christ. He is the one who has put this in our hearts. We can experience him in the here and now. Somewhat like hraeth.
