The above diagram I will use to explain what Forest Church is.

In the centre of the diagram is Reading the 2nd book of God. This is about reading the natural world. It involves three interconnecting things which I will illustrate with an example.

We can study birds by watching them. This study will bring up questions of what the birday be doing and why. Out of this something else may come to mind which connects to a poem or Scripture. This in turn leads to meaning and quite likely a moment of awe not constrained by time, which in turn gives way to praise.

The wisdom from various writings can also be used such as the shared reading of a Psalm or other scripture that comes to mind. This will help draw out meaning and awe causing us to worship more deeply.

Forest Church is also about looking at landscape, plants, listening to the sound-scape and doing it together as a shared experience linking with others wherever they are on their journey.

It’s a hands-on approach to worship involving our whole beings taking into account what God has created, being participators together with him in his creation not only in a scientific way but an artistic way blending the two together. It uses all the senses to pick-up God’s presence.

I understand this is a little long-winded but I wanted to put it in my own words.
