New From Beginning of 2023
You are invited to join us at Forest Church. We will be meeting the 2nd Saturday of each month unless otherwise stated, between 9.30am and 11.30am with some extra summer evening sessions TBC. The location varies each month. Watchout for venue and changes in the Emmanuel church notice sheet or ask to join the Forest Church WhatsApp group.
So what is it?
Forest Church is: –
- Creator focused
- Christ centred
- Creation/nature inspired
- Responsive
- Reflective
- As participatory as you want it to be
- Outdoors, all weather
- Usually on your feet, with varying degrees of activity
Forest Church: –
- Engages all the senses
- Makes use of a variety of written works e.g.,
Psalms, poetry and prose - Makes space to hear from each other
Forest Church isn’t: –
- Rushed
- Age limited (although sometimes a minimal level of fitness is required)
- Preachy
- A church service outside!
Practical tips: – - Wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear
- Consider binoculars, hand lenses, notebook/sketchpad and pen/pencil, water
- Welcome to bring a portable seat
- Receptacle for treasures you may find!
- Please let me know if you’re bringing children
- Dogs; depend on location and need to be well behaved
- If concerned about physical ability, please contact me beforehand
